Alaska 2008
Updated Oct. 20, 2008

Our goal this summer is to head back to Alaska. Our tentative plans are to spend one week in Salt Lake City so Nancy can do some research, and then head north through the Tetons, Yellowstone and Glacier to the Canadian Rockies. After Banff and Jasper we will pick up the Mackenzie Highway to the Northwest Territories (our first time in that province) and then pick up the Alaska Highway. We will take the Alaska highway to Tok, AK and turn south to Anchorage and Seward for a sailing and kayaking adventure in Ailik Bay. Then we head north to Denali to see if we can see the "mountain" when it is "out". Next we head south to Skagway to pick up the Alaska ferry system; we will make stops at Juneau, Sitka, Wrangell, Ketchikan, and Prince Rupert, B.C. At Prince Rupert we leave the ferry system and drive through British Columbia back to the lower 48 states, with a stop in California to see family and on to Albuquerque to see the International Hot Air Balloon Festival.
