Alaska 2015
updated July 27, 2015

Our goal this summer is to head back to Alaska. Our tentative plans are to spend a few days in Salt Lake City so Nancy can do some research, and then head north through the Tetons and Yellowstone to a campground near Red Lodge, MT, where we will attend a photography workshop. After that we will travel through Glacier National Park, Banff, and Jasper to pick up the Alaska Highway in Dawson Creek, BC.  After spending time in BC, Yukon Territory, and Alaska, we will pick up the Alaska ferry at Skagway, AK and take it to Bellingham, WA, with stops at Sitka, Wrangell, Ketchikan, and Prince of Wales Island. After landing in Bellingham we will head down the Pacific coast to visit family in California before returning to Madison.

We have hit a "bump in the road" concerning this trip. I (Gil) have injured my left foot. It is now in a rigid cast for the next 8 weeks so that I cannot put any weight on it. This means that I have essentially become a one-legged person, and my mobility is seriously impaired - at least for the next 8 weeks. What a bummer! Nancy and I have decided to cancel the reservations for Denali and the Alaskan ferries and to return home. Consequently, it is unlikely there will be any more updates to this webpage. Sorry about that.
