"Caravanning the Mackinaw Trail"
Northern Michigan
Sept. 16-21, 2007

The rally was a "rolling rally", starting at the Music House Museum in Acme, MI, heading north along the eastern shore of Lake Michigan to Mackinaw City, across the Mackinac Bridge to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and ending at the Soo locks in Sault Saint Marie. The weather for the rally was absolutely perfect - sunny days with very comfortable temperatures.

Our rally masters were Noel and Dick McGarrity and Penny and Ron Kimmey. They did a great job; everything went very smoothly and according to plan. Thanks, Noel, Dick, Penny, and Ron!

Day 3 - Petoskey to Mackinaw City
Day 4 - Mackinac Island
Day 5 - Soo Locks
Day 6 - Saying Good Bye

After the end of the rally, about a third of the participants continued on for an informal ("loosey-goosey") extension into the Upper Peninsula; the extension was led by Dick and Noel McGarrity. The route we took is shown below.

Days 7 & 8 - Tahquamenon Falls and Pictured Rocks
Days 9 to 11 - From Munising to the Keeweenaw Peninsula
Day 12  - Keeweenaw Peninsula

At this point we needed to head home, so we separated from the "Loosey-Goosey" rally extension. Those remaining plan to head further west to the Porcupine Mountains for one last day.
