Bryce Canyon National Park - part 1
June 14, 2011
Bryce
Canyon is not far from Zion, so we got there about noon and spend the
afternoon casing the place to see what appealed to us in the way of a
hike.
Alex
and Zack checking out the view of the Bryce Canyon Amphitheater at one
of the overlooks. The air was a bit smoky from a prescribed burn in the
area. Hopefully tomorrow the air will be clearer.
The
trail into what is called "Wall Street" looked pretty interesting; it
goes down a steep series of switchbacks and disappears into a very
narrow passageway. We will try this trail tomorrow.
Back at our campsite, Zack is demonstrating the proper posture for playing the DS.
While Alex was thoroughly engrossed in his reading on the Kindle.
After dinner, Alex and Zack toasted marshmellows.
A tentative tasking of his marshmellow culinary skills.
"Hey, it tastes pretty good. Not bad, if I do say so myself".
Tomorrow we hike into the Bryce Amphitheater to see it up close.
