Spending Time with Grandchildren

June 7-17, 2002

We spent the next 10 days with our son Dave, his wife Sara, and their two children, Alex and Zack. The children, of course, are our grandchildren and occupy a special place in our hearts, as any grandparent will understand. Alex will be four next month, and Zack is about 18 months old. It was wonderful to relax and play with them. Since they live 2000 miles from us, we don't get a lot of time with them, so we take advantage of whatever opportunity we get.  We went on a few excursions - the Western Train Museum in Suisun, Sacramento Zoo, and the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield (yes, they give out samples and I didn't share mine with anybody).  Alex and Zack really liked "Grandpa's big truck", which is how they referred to the Roadtrek.

Alex really likes computers and is very good with them.
