Camping at Yosemite

June 25-30, 2002

Dave, Sara, Alex, Zack, Nancy, and I headed for Yosemite for 5 days of camping. Dave, Sara, and the kids slept in a tent while Nancy and I used the Roadtrek. It was the first camping experience for the kids, and they did very well. They had a lot of fun chasing birds and squirrels, being pulled in the bike trailer by their dad, going on hikes, and generally being "grubby." Yosemite is very "bicycle friendly"; we took a 17 mile tour one day, seeing Yosemite valley.

Alex worked on becoming a Cub Ranger, with some help from dad, and critical comments from Zack, who was taking a juice break here.

Zack also got into his "bookwork", with help from mommy.

Zack also likes to manipulate things, such as the tire on the bike trailer. He may make a good engineer some day, if his grandpa has anything influence in these matters.

Alex completed the Cub Ranger requirements and was awarded a Cub badge by a park ranger.

For completing the Cub requirements, Alex was rewarded with ice cream on the patio in Yosemite Village. After 4 days of camping, the ice cream really tasted good!
