Visiting Eppingen

We took a break in our visit to Neckarelz so that Pat and Nancy could do some genealogy research at the archives in Karlsruhe. We stayed in a hotel outside Karlsruhe and visited Eppingen. Maria Catharina Kamm had emigrated to America from Eppingen before 1723 with her parents. She met Johann Philipp  in Philadelphia and they were married by1731.

Eppingen, with the Pfeifferturm, which dates from the beginning of the 13th century. It was part of the wall surrounding the old section of the town. Like most towns in Germany, the old town walls have been removed to allow the town to expand.

We had dinner in a restaurant where we toasted Maria Kamm.
