Visiting Family in California

May 23-31, 2004

First stop was a visit with my sister Beryl and her husband Dick in Hayward, CA. It was good to catch up on the news of  her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

The next stop was Merced, CA to see my brother Allan and his wife, Sissy. I lived with them when I was in high school, so visiting them is as close to "going home" as it gets for me.  Merced is normally hot in the summer, but the weather was very pleasant while we were there.

After Merced, we went to visit Nancy's uncle and aunt, Chuck and Margaret, in Twain Harte, which is in the Sierras; they have a very nice place in the mountains. We arrived in time for the birthday party they were throwing for Margaret.  This is Margaret holding up her birthday cake.

Heather, the daughter of Chuck and Margaret, and mother of Cami and Rylie (see next photo), is enjoying a piece of birthday cake.

Rylie, Cami's little sister, is out for a stroll with her dad, Dennis.
