One of the rally activities was a bus tour of Rocky Mountain National Park. It rained the night before and the mountains were obscured by clouds and fog in the morning of the tour. This looked like a terrible day for mountain sightseeing. But we went anyway, even though the weather was very discouraging.

The bus tour went up Trail Ridge Road to about 12,000 feet above sea level and broke through the clouds and fog to brilliant sunshine. Seeing the mountains rising above a sea of clouds was very dramatic. We had been on Trail Ridge Road several times before, but we had never seen it as beautiful as this.

The rally was at the time of peak color in this area. The yellow-gold color of the aspen contrasted very nicely with the green of the lodgepole pine. We were very impressed that the rally organizers had arranged everything to be in Green Bay Packer colors.
